frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions to hopefully help you out!
If you have any more questions feel free to ask me!

  • Q: What does "YCH" mean?
A: "YCH" stands for "Your Character Here"! I have many emote bases I've drawn myself that you can then choose from on Kofi to have me draw you/your character onto! This is an option for everyone, so no base is limited to only 1 client. This option is normally cheaper than custom emotes, however it lacks the ability to see WIPs and has a bit less priority in queue.

  • Q: Can I have the 'full res' version of my emotes?
A: Yes and no? I draw all of my emotes at 112x112, which means you're getting the biggest size there is. However, if you ask me beforehand I can try drawing them larger for you! (Or upscale them for free afterwards)

  • Q: What program do you use to draw?
    A: Paint Tool SAI 2

  • Q: What tablet do you use to draw?
    A: Wacom Cintiq Pro 16

  • Q: Can you stream my commission?
    A: Sorry! I don't stream anymore currently.

  • Q: I want to use my commission on my stream. Is this okay?
A: Yes! I don't consider stream use to be commercial as long as you credit me in a panel.

  • Q: I saw my commission card in the "Finished" section on your Queue, but I don't have my files. Why?
A: Normally this is because I have the art done, but am still resizing/processing it, or I simply am waiting to send out the files the next day. It's very rare I forget to send the finished product completely. If it has been longer than 1-2 days, DM me!

  • Q: Can YCH emotes be used for commercial/merch use?
A: Sadly no! Because of their cheaper cost and wide availability, I don't feel comfortable having them used for merch even with a commercial fee.

  • Q: Can I use your YCH bases for myself/commissions/tracing?
    A: Please don't! They are only for me to use and not a public base. You can use them as inspiration provided you change the emote enough to not look like a 1-for-1 copy/traced though. I of course don't 'own' the idea of any type of emote, but if you choose to say do your own 'smoosh' matching emotes I just ask that they aren't traced from mine or a redraw of my exact proportions. If that makes sense;;

  • Q: Who made your Logo?
    A: shiya_tan00 on VGen!

general.

  • Artist will not create works that are explicit, offensive, or inappropriate.

  • Artist has the right to decline any commission as she sees fit.

  • Please note that the Artist's art style may be slightly different to older finished works as she grows and progresses as an artist.

  • Artist's ToS and prices may change over time.

  • Please be aware there is NO physical item as part of this transaction. Everything you receive will be digital ONLY.

  • Clients may NOT use the Artist's work in AI training or NFT work.

  • Clients may NOT commission YCH emotes through "custom" forms UNLESS the Client is commissioning them alongside custom emotes as well. (ex. 1 YCH emote, 2 custom emotes). This is to make sure no one is getting around my YCH slots being closed.

  • It is expected that the client will provide clear and complete requirements and expectations upfront, including reference materials and assets before the work begins. Please be sure you know what you want.

  • Artist has the right to publish work in progress/WIP photos as well as the finished version of the commissioned work on social media for promotional purposes unless otherwise asked for and the Secrecy Fee (15% of the initial cost) paid for. This fee does not apply to YCH emotes on Kofi.

  • Client must credit the Artist for their work if posted or used online (@buppi on Twitter or @8uppi on Twitch) in some form.

  • If the Client is by any means rude, makes the Artist uncomfortable, uses the finished work in a way that breaks ToS, or breaks any rules of the ToS at any point the Client will be blacklisted.

  • By agreeing to this ToS you agree to my terms as well as confirm that you are either 18+ OR have legal guardian permission to agree to these terms.

payments.

  • All payments are handled through PayPal invoicing if commissioning via Direct Message and are in USD$. Do not send payments outside of invoices I personally send you. If commissioning through VGen or Kofi, this does not apply.

  • Artist requires 50% minimum as a down payment at the start and the other 50% after the sketch(es) have been confirmed by the Client. This is to ensure the Client is serious and will not just back out after sketches have been sent.

  • Refunds are to be discussed with the Artist first and will only be accepted as long as she has either:
    1. Not started the work (this means no sketch has been started)
    2. Has exceeded her 4 month max personal deadline with no work to show (100% refund) OR partial work to show (50-75% refund depending on work stage)
    3. Has exceeded the Client's set deadline that both agreed* upon with either no work to show (100% refund) OR partial work to show (50-75% refund depending on work stage).
If a refund of any size is given, no work will be finished and delivered to the Client.
*Artist and Client MUST have both mutually agreed to said deadline at the very start of the commission process. You cannot set one yourself at any given time past the initial commission inquiry and spring it on the Artist suddenly.

revisions.

  • Artist will provide 3 big revisions (full re-draw) and unlimited small revisions during the Sketch phase only.

  • Artist will provide 3 small revisions after the work is complete (ex. color change, adding forgotten detail, etc) if fault lies on the Artist.

  • There will be no full re-draws after the work is complete or once the Lining process has begun.

deadlines & delivery.

  • If the Client wishes to set a deadline it MUST be stated clearly at the very start of the commission process and be agreed upon by both the Artist and the Client and be reasonable.

  • Deadlines must be at least 1 month away from the initial commission date to not be considered for a Rush Fee (30% of the initial cost).

  • A Rush Fee will be charged if the Client requires the work to be done in under a month. This does not mean the work will take over a month without the Fee, however this prevents new Clients from coming to the Artist and pushing their way to the front of the queue for free and inconveniencing current Clients already in the queue being worked on.

  • Timeframe for commissions can take anywhere from 1-4 months maximum or less to deliver. This leaves wiggle room for illness, long queue, and real life issues occurring that may take time from the Artist.

  • Client will be updated with work in progress photos during the Sketch phase only unless specifically requested otherwise (this only applies to custom commissions). YCH commissions do not receive WIPs.

client use.

  • All work done by the Artist is for PERSONAL and STREAM/SOCIAL MEDIA use unless otherwise stated and paid for accordingly (Commercial/Merch license fee +75% of the initial cost).

  • Clients may NOT use my art in AI training or NFT work.

  • Client may edit the final work in the following ways:
    - Cropping
    - Resizing
    - Animating

communication.

  • Clients may contact the Artist at any point in time for questions, concerns, or updates through Twitter or Kofi DMs so long as they do not send daily messages requesting a status update or speak rudely to the Artist.

  • The Artist will only typically contact the Client if there is a work in progress during the Sketch phase to be shown or a question to be asked.

  • Clients may view the status of their commission via the Trello Queue here: Trello

  • Artist will usually respond to messages between 4-8pm EST on working days. Please be patient and wait at least 2-3 days before messaging again.

  • Artist will not respond to messages if sick, but the Client may still leave a message in her inbox to be responded to promptly when available.

  • Client may contact the Artist through either Twitter DMs (@buppi), Kofi DMs, or through email ([email protected]). Please do not attempt to contact her through Discord or any other means.

  • The custom commission process is as follows:
    1. Inquiry form received and reviewed by the Artist.
    2. If accepted, Artist will reach out to confirm the slot and request 50% minimum to 100% of the payment (depending on client comfortability).
    3. Work begins and a work in progress sketch will be shown to the Client for confirmation and revisions.
    4. Once confirmed, the Artist will request the final 50% of the payment and continue to line and render the work to completion with no other work in progress shown unless requested.
    5. Final product is delivered via .zip file to the Client.
